This unit was created to increase comprehension of Meltrek: Exploring Ancient Africa. It contains lessons on the historical backgrounds of various African kingdoms. Students will learn about their rulers, cultures and defining landscapes. The significance of these cultures and how each profoundly contributed to civilization will be emphasized. Educators are provided with lesson plans, a student learning packet, supplementary materials, and assessments.
This unit plan teaches students about the pyramids located in Kemet and Nubia. Students will learn historical, geographical and architectural facts associated with these monumental structures.
